MWPAI hosts costume designer Van broughton Ramsey
UTICA — Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute will host an illustrated presentation by Emmy Award-Winning costume designer Van Broughton Ramsey at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12.
Attendees will take a glimpse into the career of Van Broughton Ramsey, costume designer for motion pictures, television, and Broadway. Ramsey has designed for more than 40 productions including “Lonesome Dove,” “Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All,” “All is Lost,” and “The Trip to Bountiful.”
He has outfitted Robert Redford, Cecily Tyson, Glenn Close, and Robert Duvall, to name a few. Van Ramsey will discuss the challenges of designing clothing for a modern-day production that is set in the past.
