Woman accused of stabbing husband

A woman is accused of stabbing her husband during an argument on South James Street, according to the Rome Police Department.

Police said Amanda A. Selby, 32, and her husband were involved in a verbal argument at their residence in the 400 block of S. James Street around 12:37 a.m. Monday. During the argument, police said Selby used a sharp object and stabbed her husband once in the abdomen.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, authorities stated.

Selby is charged with one count each of second-degree assault, a class D felony, and fourth-degree possession of a weapon, as well as two counts of endangering the welfare of a child because there were two children in the home at the time, police said. Selby is scheduled to appear in Rome City Court.
