Rome Trail Towns workshop Wednesday

A public forum will be held at Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, to share ideas on the city of Rome as a destination spot for cyclists along the Empire State Trail, according to city officials.

In April, Rome was named one of three Trail Towns in New York State by Parks & Trails New York, in partnership with the New York State Canal Corporation. Rome will work with Parks & Trails to more effectively harness visitation to the city’s portion of the 360-mile Erie Canalway, according to the officials.

The workshop will provide members of the public with the chance to share their thoughts and ideas on what makes Rome a great destination for visiting cyclists along the Empire State Trail, and ways the trail user experience might be enhanced for both residents and visitors alike, officials said.
