City to host open registration for summer youth programs

The City of Rome Parks and Recreation department will host open registration for its 2023 Summer Youth Programs from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 10, at the J.F. Kennedy Civic Arena, 500 W. Embargo St.

Recreation programs this summer include basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, youth fitness programs, and arts and crafts, among others. There will also be a soccer camp, football camp, and a golf camp offered this year.

Swim lessons will once again be offered for children ages 4 and up. The cost. is $30 for Rome residents and $40 for non-Rome residents, payable by cash or checks made out to the City of Rome. All other summer programs are offered for free, and there is no limit on how many programs one person can sign up for.

Each participating individual will have to have a completed waiver form which will be available the day of registration. Waivers are also available online on the city’s website at www. romenewyork.com/parks-recreation. The completed form must be turned in when signing up.

Late registration will continue in the Rome City Hall Lobby, 198 N. Washington St. from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays until June 23. There will be no late registration fee this year.
