New Jersey Devils call up forward Foote

The New Jersey Devils have called up forward Nolan Foote, who has the second most goals for the Utica Comets this season.

Patrick Grasso was called up from Adirondack to fill the roster spot for Utica.

Foote has 18 goals, second behind Graeme Clarke’s 21. He has 12 assists for 30 points, which is third on the team. The left wing has appeared in 16 games with New Jersey over the last three seasons, with four goals and a pair of assists.

Grasso, a right-handed shooting center, has 27 goals and 18 assists for the ECHL Adirondack Thunder in 53 games. He appeared in nine games for Utica last year and scored once with three assists. In three games with Utica this season, he has two assists.

The Comets have lost their last two games and played a road game against the Laval Rocket Friday. Results were not available at press time. The team plays the Rocket again at 3 p.m. Saturday.
