Schumer endorses Conole in state’s 22nd Congressional District

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y., has announced his endorsement of Francis Conole in New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Schumer’s endorsement, announced late Tuesday, comes as Democrats rally around Conole as the general election, on

Tuesday, Nov. 8, draws closer.

Conole will face Republican nominee Brandon Williams in the election to win the seat currently occupied by outgoing Rep. John Katko.

“I am thrilled to endorse Francis Conole to represent the people of Central New York and the Mohawk Valley,” Schumer said. “From his time serving overseas in Iraq, to serving Secretaries of Defense of both parties, Francis Conole has always answered the call for his country. He is honest, hard-working and committed to delivering for all the people of the 22 district — I have no doubt he has what it takes to win this seat and deliver for the people of New York’s 22nd Congressional District.”

“From Syracuse to Utica, the region’s best days are ahead, and I look forward to working with Francis Conole to continue to deliver for this area,” Schumer added.

“I am grateful to have the support of Majority Leader Schumer in our race for NY-22,” Conole said. “Leader Schumer has been a tireless advocate for our working families and our region of Central New York. He has worked to increase investment and bring jobs to this region, and we are better for it.”
