Tenney to host webinars on firefighter grant funding

Rep. Claudia L. Tenney, R-22, New Hartford, will host a pair of webinars in October for grant funding opportunities, including one for local firefighters.

• The first webinar will discuss the Assistance for Firefighters Grant, which provides assistance to firefighters and first responders to afford training, equipment and new vehicles, officials said.

The webinar will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, in association with the Federal Emergency Management Agency;

• The second webinar will cover upcoming funding opportunities available in Oneida, Herkimer, Madison and Oswego counties, including the types of projects eligible for funding, changes in the newest program and important dates for applications.

The webinar will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in association with the Northern Border Regional Commission.

Both webinars will be conducted virtually over the Zoom platform.
