NEW HARTFORD

Two women have been charged with prostitution following an undercover sting operation at the Crystal Fa Spa in New Hartford, according to the New Hartford Police Department.

Police said an officer went undercover at the Crystal Fa Spa on Oneida Street on Thursday, March 16, and was offered sexual services for a fee by employees of the spa. Police said it was also learned that the employees are not licensed massage therapists.

“We received a tip a little over a month ago,” explained New Hartford Police Chief Ronald Fontaine. He said the business was still relatively new.

Employees Suxin Zhang, 50, and Qun

Zhou, 56, both of Flushing, Queens, are charged with unauthorized practice of a profession, a class E felony, and prostitution, a misdemeanor, police said. They are scheduled to appear in New Hartford Town Court.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are possible, authorities stated. Chief Fontaine said there are no other employees at the business.
