Landscape artist wants to ‘make ordinary look extraordinary’

LITTLE FALLS Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts invites the public to explore beautiful landscapes by Robert Coppen at the 401 Gallery, 401-403 Canal Place.

The public can meet the artist, view his work and share his artistic journey in a free opening reception from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 25. The exhibit will be on display through April 29.

Coppen lives in central New York and is a selftaught artist who started at a very early age. His first work of art was a drawing on his crib sheet with a ball point pen when he was between one and two years old.

Today he has an incredible portfolio of work and Coppen has became a regionalist landscape painter.

“What I’m trying to do with my work, regardless as to the medium used, is make the ordinary look extraordinary,” he said.
